HIM were a gothic rock band from Helsinki, Finland. Founded in 1991, the band didn't really get going until 1995Ā after a short break. Upon coming back, they were quickly signed to BMG and began releasing chart-topping albums. For the next two decades, they released eight albums in total despite constant lineup changes and world tours. Along the way, Bam Margera's fandom and association helped HIM break through to an alternative American audience as well. They broke up in 2017. In 2001, they releasedĀ Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights, their third album. It was another international success, going to #1 in Finland and Austria as well as breaking through to the Billboard Top 200.
